Verse 26:2Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.

3
Verse 26:3Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers.

4
Verse 26:4Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.

5
Verse 26:5Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, but they turn their backs at it.

6
Verse 26:6Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.

7
Verse 26:7Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein?

8
Verse 26:8Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

9
Verse 26:9Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

10
Verse 26:10Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people.

11
Verse 26:11Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear?”

12
Verse 26:12Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me.

13
Verse 26:13Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too.

14
Verse 26:14Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me.”

15
Verse 26:15Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening.

16
Verse 26:16Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.

17
Verse 26:17Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Let the Children of Israel go with us.'“

18
Verse 26:18Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years?

19
Verse 26:19Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”

20
Verse 26:20Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray.

21
Verse 26:21Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And I fled from you when I feared you; but my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers.

22
Verse 26:22Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”

23
Verse 26:23Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds?”

24
Verse 26:24Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware.”

25
Verse 26:25Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”

26
Verse 26:26Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”

27
Verse 26:27Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy.”

28
Verse 26:28Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand.”

29
Verse 26:29Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner.”

30
Verse 26:30Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “What if I bring you something convincing?”

31
Verse 26:31Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful.”

32
Verse 26:32Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see.

33
Verse 26:33Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.

34
Verse 26:34Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician.

35
Verse 26:35Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend?”

36
Verse 26:36Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities.

37
Verse 26:37Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

To bring you every experienced magician.”

38
Verse 26:38Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day.

39
Verse 26:39Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered?

40
Verse 26:40Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners.”

41
Verse 26:41Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners?”

42
Verse 26:42Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored.”

43
Verse 26:43Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present.”

44
Verse 26:44Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners.”

45
Verse 26:45Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery.

46
Verse 26:46Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And the magicians fell down prostrating.

47
Verse 26:47Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.

49
Verse 26:49Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? He must be your chief, who taught you magic. You will soon know. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”

50
Verse 26:50Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “No problem. To our Lord we will return.

51
Verse 26:51Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers.”

52
Verse 26:52Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. You will be followed.”

57
Verse 26:57Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So We drove them out of gardens and springs.

59
Verse 26:59Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them.

61
Verse 26:61Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken.”

62
Verse 26:62Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me.”

63
Verse 26:63Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff.” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill.

64
Verse 26:64Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And there We brought the others near.

65
Verse 26:65Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.

67
Verse 26:67Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

In that there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

68
Verse 26:68Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

69
Verse 26:69Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And relate to them the story of Abraham.

70
Verse 26:70Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”

71
Verse 26:71Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”

72
Verse 26:72Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?

73
Verse 26:73Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”

74
Verse 26:74Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”

75
Verse 26:75Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “Have you considered what you worship.

77
Verse 26:77Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.

81
Verse 26:81Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He who makes me die, and then revives me.

82
Verse 26:82Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”

83
Verse 26:83Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.

84
Verse 26:84Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And give me a reputation of truth among the others.

85
Verse 26:85Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.

86
Verse 26:86Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided.

87
Verse 26:87Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.

88
Verse 26:88Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The Day when neither wealth nor children will help.

89
Verse 26:89Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart.”

90
Verse 26:90Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.

91
Verse 26:91Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.

92
Verse 26:92Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?”

93
Verse 26:93Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Besides God? Can they help you, or help themselves?”

94
Verse 26:94Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.

95
Verse 26:95Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.

97
Verse 26:97Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

“By God, We were in evident error.

98
Verse 26:98Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds.

99
Verse 26:99Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

No one misled us except the sinners.

102
Verse 26:102Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”

103
Verse 26:103Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

104
Verse 26:104Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

105
Verse 26:105Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.

106
Verse 26:106Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?

109
Verse 26:109Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

111
Verse 26:111Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”

112
Verse 26:112Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “What do I know about what they do?

113
Verse 26:113Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.

114
Verse 26:114Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And I am not about to drive away the believers.

116
Verse 26:116Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”

117
Verse 26:117Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.

118
Verse 26:118Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.

119
Verse 26:119Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.

121
Verse 26:121Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

122
Verse 26:122Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

124
Verse 26:124Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?

127
Verse 26:127Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

128
Verse 26:128Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake?

129
Verse 26:129Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?

130
Verse 26:130Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?

132
Verse 26:132Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.

133
Verse 26:133Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He supplied you with livestock and children.

135
Verse 26:135Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”

136
Verse 26:136Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.

137
Verse 26:137Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

This is nothing but morals of the ancients.

139
Verse 26:139Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

140
Verse 26:140Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

141
Verse 26:141Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Thamood disbelieved the messengers.

142
Verse 26:142Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When their brother Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?

145
Verse 26:145Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

146
Verse 26:146Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Will you be left secure in what is here?

148
Verse 26:148Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious?

149
Verse 26:149Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains?

151
Verse 26:151Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And do not obey the command of the extravagant.

152
Verse 26:152Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform.”

153
Verse 26:153Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.

154
Verse 26:154Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

You are nothing but a man like us. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.

155
Verse 26:155Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day.

156
Verse 26:156Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you.”

157
Verse 26:157Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse.

158
Verse 26:158Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

159
Verse 26:159Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

160
Verse 26:160Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.

161
Verse 26:161Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When their brother Lot said to them, “Do you not fear?

164
Verse 26:164Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

165
Verse 26:165Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Do you approach the males of the world?

166
Verse 26:166Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”

167
Verse 26:167Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”

168
Verse 26:168Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”

169
Verse 26:169Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

“My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”

170
Verse 26:170Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So We saved him and his family, altogether.

171
Verse 26:171Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Except for an old woman among those who tarried.

173
Verse 26:173Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And We rained down on them a rain. Dreadful is the rain of those forewarned.

174
Verse 26:174Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

175
Verse 26:175Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

176
Verse 26:176Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The People of the Woods disbelieved the messengers.

177
Verse 26:177Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

When Shuaib said to them, “Do you not fear?

178
Verse 26:178Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

180
Verse 26:180Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

181
Verse 26:181Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Give full measure, and do not cheat.

183
Verse 26:183Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And do not defraud people of their belongings, and do not work corruption in the land.

184
Verse 26:184Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And fear Him who created you and the masses of old.”

185
Verse 26:185Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They said, “You are one of those bewitched.

186
Verse 26:186Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And you are nothing but a man like us; and we think that you are a liar.

187
Verse 26:187Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So bring down on us pieces from the sky, if you are truthful.”

188
Verse 26:188Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.”

189
Verse 26:189Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

But they denied him. So the punishment of the day of gloom gripped them. It was the punishment of a great day.

190
Verse 26:190Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

191
Verse 26:191Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

192
Verse 26:192Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

193
Verse 26:193Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

The Honest Spirit came down with it.

194
Verse 26:194Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Upon your heart, that you may be one of the warners.

196
Verse 26:196Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And it is in the scriptures of the ancients.

197
Verse 26:197Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognized it?

198
Verse 26:198Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Had We revealed it to one of the foreigners.

199
Verse 26:199Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And he had recited it to them, they still would not have believed in it.

200
Verse 26:200Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Thus We make it pass through the hearts of the guilty.

201
Verse 26:201Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

They will not believe in it until they witness the painful punishment.

202
Verse 26:202Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

It will come to them suddenly, while they are unaware.

203
Verse 26:203Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Then they will say, “Are we given any respite?”

204
Verse 26:204Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Do they seek to hasten Our punishment?

205
Verse 26:205Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Have you considered: if We let them enjoy themselves for some years.

206
Verse 26:206Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Then there comes to them what they were promised.

207
Verse 26:207Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Of what avail to them will be their past enjoyments?

208
Verse 26:208Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

Never did We destroy a town, but it had warners.

209
Verse 26:209Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

As a reminder—We are never unjust.

210
Verse 26:210Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

It was not the devils that revealed it.

211
Verse 26:211Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

It is not in their interests, nor in their power.

213
Verse 26:213Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

So do not pray to another god with God, else you will be of those tormented.

215
Verse 26:215Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you.

216
Verse 26:216Audio file (MP3)Permanent link

And if they disobey you, say, “I am innocent of what you do.”
